Three meals a day are provided at Rishikesh Yogashram in the restaurant area, which is equipped with indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the climate at his best.
Sattvic food is served everyday as an ideal “yogic diet” according to what the body needs to follow a good yoga practice. Sattvic means “pure”: light, simple and easily digestible food that leads you to clarity and perception. It has the potential to unfold love and compassion in the individuals, it gives a feeling of contentment while improving the nutrition awareness. It’s a based on a tasty and nourishing vegetarian diet rich in grains, beans, vegetables, cereals, fresh milk and yogurt, ghee (clarified butter), herbal tea, fresh fruits, dried fruits and nuts.
We are growing our own organic vegetables in the ashram gardens and greenhouses.
The following prayer is said before each meal in the ashram:
